Independence Center Teen & Youth Access Policy

Creating a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone

To provide a positive environment for shoppers, guests, families, and retailers, Independence Center has implemented the following Youth Access Policy:

Youth Supervision Guidelines

• Guests 17 years old and under must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult 25 years of age or older during designated hours:

Adult Supervision Requirements

• One adult may accompany up to 4 minors.
• The supervising adult must remain on mall property at all times.
• Adults may be required to present a valid ID.

Expectations for All Guests

The following behaviors are not permitted:

• Running
• Excessive noise/disruptive behavior
• Fighting, horseplay, or threats
• Loitering in groups that block walkways or entrances
• Harassing guests or tenants
• Vaping, smoking, or illegal activity
• Trespassing into unauthorized areas

Security & Enforcement

• Independence Center reserves the right to ask guests to leave if policy violations occur.
• Repeat violations may result in temporary or permanent restrictions from the property.
• Security and local law enforcement may be involved when necessary. Security and Independence Police Department are on duty 24 hours.

This policy is designed to maintain a welcoming environment for everyone while allowing youth and families to continue enjoying the mall responsibly.
