Independence Center Plans New Interactive Entertainment Experience

INDEPENDENCE, MO. – (June 2, 2019) – In their ongoing efforts to enhance the visitor experience, Independence Center is excited to announce a new interactive entertainment experience for all ages debuting this winter.

“As we continue to push the envelope and create a fun, family-friendly environment that you can’t get sitting in front of a TV or on your phone, we’re thrilled about what’s in store for our visitors,” said Cheryl Meyer, Independence Center Director of Marketing and Specialty Leasing.

The interactive experience will feature climbing walls, a roll glider and three levels of ropes courses. Additional entertainment experiences on the food court-level include The District, an arcade game and ride area, similar to those that have been implemented at other IGP Business Group-owned Malls.

A growing consumer desire for authenticity and experience, according to an International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Envision 2020 Report, echoes Independence Center’s ongoing philosophy of not only integrating community partners, but adding dynamic experiences that go beyond shopping, for all ages.

As Independence Center begins implementing updates, the iconic carousel feature that has been a fixture of the Center for years will be taken down in September. While Independence Center realizes it was a favorite for visitors, it will make-way for this new, never-seen-before entertainment experience.

Additional details and renderings are forthcoming.
